Stephen D. Rogoff

Rochester - August 14, 2018 at age 72. Predeceased by his wife, Arlayne and parents, Harold & Rose Rogoff. He is survived by his loving children, Scott (Sarabeth), Brett (Heather) Rogoff & Robyn (David) Goldstein; grandchildren, Halle Rose, Noah Zachary, Evan Benjamin, Aliza Jayne, Campbell Ashley & Sawyer Zachary; sister, Sharlene (Murray) Freeman; nieces and nephews and dear friends, Jack & Cathy Dinaburg & Harvey Bunis.

Stephen was a well-respected attorney who represented many in and around Rochester for almost 50 years.

Graveside Services will be held on THURSDAY at 1 PM in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are asked to gather at the main entrance. The family will receive friends on THURSDAY 4-7 PM, FRIDAY 3-6 PM and MONDAY 6-8 PM at 108 Clearview Drive in Penfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prevention 1st, One Grove St. Suite 235, Pittsford, NY 14534.

I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Steve Rogoff. He was not only My Attorney but He was My Good Friend. He also was a rarity in this day and age, He was an honest attorney who I trusted. I will never forget all the good times I enjoyed with Steve and the Monroe Avenue Office Group. I will miss you My Good Friend And My Most Trusting And Honorable Attorney. I can't tell you how much this has saddened me. You're now reunited with Arlayne. I will miss you always My Dear Friend.

I never expected to wake and find out this late that you have passed Mr Rogoff. You were a true friend to me and to my father Eugene (Geno). I can only hope your suffering has been eased and that you are reunited with your beautiful wife. I will remember all the times we have shared over the years and all the stories you have shared with me about my father after his passing. Play a game of chess with him for me and go with God in peace.... Forever remembered....

I am shocked to hear of Mr Rogoff's passing. I referred a friend to him, and my friend sent me the obituary. Stephen helped me through a very nasty custody battle ( which we won), and i am eternally grateful to him for that. I always felt safe when he rolled into court, and through it all he had a great sense of humor, and assured me that things would work out. Im sorry for the family he left behind. He always talked about his grand kids. Rest in Peace old friend.

I have been best friends with Scott Rogoff for almost 40 years. Steve was not like a Dad to me, he was a Dad to me. I grew up in his home in Brighton with Arlane and the family. He taught me countless life lessons that I am passing on to my son today. He shaped the man I have grown into today. There are no words to express my deep sadness and sense of loss. He was an incredible man and I will miss him terribly. Rest In Peace.

I will always remember our high school days and college as well. We laughed and played and Steve was always just a wonderful friend. His memory has always brought a smile to my face as it does now. Reading the obituaries reminds of what a compassionate man he was. We have all lost a good friend. May he be happy and free from suffering and know Peace.

Having known Steve for over forty years, meeting him for lunch or just sitting in the office visiting I can only say one thing about him he was a great father and grandfather and a loving husband. I am so very sorry to hear this news. Steve Rogoff was the first attorney I ever worked for 30 years ago. Right out of high school he taught me how to survive in the legal field in which I still am today. He will be missed. Back in the days of Monroe Avenue office, Jack, Harvey, Carey, Len, Cheryl, Arlayne, Maria - the memories I will cherish. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Rest in peace my friend.

You will be missed in many ways. Even though our conversation started out as business it always ended up in friendship and you always made me laugh and our conversations were in my mind for days after just because of your pure brlliance and your comedic ways that you possess. He cared about and treated his clients as if they were members of his own family.
