Webster: Sat., May 4, 2013, age 78. Predeceased by brother, Francis Trabold; sister, Mary Knapp. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Leonard; 10 children, Leonard (Jacqueline), Carolyn (Thomas) Gorman, Janet (Gerard) Sander, Karen Ruffle, Lawrence, Mary Ellen Clark, Kathleen (Thomas) McEwen, James (Lori), Thomas (Linda) and Diane Hasman; 15 grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Laura, Connor, Thomas, Sean, Zachary, Ryan, Trevor, Collin, Erin, Kristen, Samuel, Abigail and Liam; step-grandchildren, Katrina, Brittany, Jacob and Daniel; step-great-grandson, Aiden; sister, Vera Wawrzaszek; nieces and nephews.

Sylvia had a passion for supplying Christmas gifts to needy youngsters, and over the years, along with organizing gift collections, she donated thousands of gifts and wrapped them, mainly for Community Place in Rochester. She was also an active volunteer at St. Rita's School and Parish, and was the driving force behind Fun Tours bus trips.

Friends may call 2-4, 6-8 Thurs. at Willard H. Scott Funeral Home, 12 South Ave., Webster. Memorial Mass 11:15 AM Fri. at St. Rita's Church, 1008 Maple Dr., Webster. Memorials may be directed to Community Place, 145 Parcells Ave., Rochester, NY 14609.

My dearest friend Sylvia, after 6 years of having the pleasure of working with you and 17 years of meeting you at Hegedorn's every week. I felt like part of your family. I would see your smile and know everything is good. The many jokes the many laughs we had together. she often spoke of her family, how proud she was and how she treasured every one of us. She came to all my showers bridal and baby and graduations and my children's weddings.My 60th surprise Birthday Party, My mother in laws 80th birthday party. My children loved her she was part of my family. I'm gonna truly miss you. I know you are in Heaven because you were an angel on earth. I will treasure all our conversations and your sincere smile. Mom, I am so grateful that I was able to have you for 50 years, but wanted many more. Thank you for the visits to the other places I have lived, for all the wonderful childhood memories, and the special moments you shared with my children. To the Hasman Family;i am very sorry for what has happened to Sylvia.Itreally seems like a dream,because I was on the bus with the group heading for Seneca Casino having a marvelous time,she wastalking about being in General for the month of januaryand she didnt ever want to do that again.Wewere all having a great time,and she went in again two weeks ago thursday and now shes in heaven calling her first game of bingo there.We will contiue to thikn of you because you are going to be sadly missed.Iwill continue to love you and ill miss you too.God bless you Sylvia.

Len, so sorry to hear about Sylvia. It was GREAT working with Sylvia at Ames & knowing her almost 20 years in June. When I was on the cash register she would always tell me your the only one that keeps your drawer neat. Sylvia was a Beautiful, Caring, Giving,Lovely lady to be around with at Ames.
