Dear Colby family,
I have known Tom for the last 7 years or so. I had moved to Stuart, Fl but trusted and respected Tom so much that I still would drive down to Boca to have Tom look at any issues I had with my car.
Not only was Tom incredibly talented at his trade, he was an incredible human being. I know on a few occasions Tom sent me on my way with what I thought was a big issue but just a small fix or no fix was needed.
Having driven alot of junkers in my time I have dealt with alot of mechanics from the midwest to my move to FL. I never found a mechanic I completely trusted. And thats when I met Tom in Boca Raton of all places. Not only Tom explained complex items way over my head in simple explanations he always had time to take some time off and talk about life.
I will miss Tom very much as a friend and was very saddened to hear the news of his passing. God Bless.

Dear Colby Family,
My wife, and our sons are so sorry for your loss. We have known Tom since shortly after he open his shop in Boca Raton. Whenever our cars needed work we would take them to Tom, when my sons became old enough to have cars of their own they always took them to Tom for their repairs. We all knew Tom as an expert mechanic who didn’t let any problem baffle him, but more importantly we knew him as an honest man who would always treat you right every time you visited his shop. Over the years Tom and I became friends. We had many interesting discussions together. Occasionally I would stop by his shop just to chat when he had a few moments of free time. We’d talk about our families, cars, home improvement projects, our younger years, you name it we probably talked about it. He always spoke highly of his family; Jan, Caty, Christopher, Jonathan, his parents and brothers. Tom was always upbeat, even the times I visited him in the hospital he was optimistic about beating his illness, getting back to work and rebuilding his business. There are very few people you meet in life who have the integrity, work ethic and honesty that Tom had. We will all truly miss him.

To Tom's Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I was introduced to Tom by my dad, a long time customer of Tom's. I too found him to be knowledgeable, honest, fair all the qualities you hope for, but rarely find, in business today. I always admired is dedication to both his work and his family. From the pictures of him in his younger days over the desk in the shop, to his incredible knowledge on just about any car from the muscle cars of the late 60's to today's computerized wonders. His love for what he did was very apparent. Even in his final days his dedication and love for his family shown through doing what he thought he had to do to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads despite his illness. He was a friend to all whom he came in contact with and will be sorely missed.
My deepest sympathy,

Dear Jan, Christopher, Caty, Jonathon and the rest of Mr. Colby's Family, I was a customer of Tom's for many years. I cannot even begin to speak of how many wonderful attributes he had. He was caring, considerate, honest and respectful. He was an incredible mechanic who helped me whenever I needed it. He would explain every problem to me and would be patient with me since I am not very car savvy. I had complete trust in him and feel that he was a blessing to work with. I referred many friends to him because I knew he was the absolute best at everything he did. My heart goes out to all of you. He was a well respected and dedicated man who will be missed by his entire community.

I have done business with Tom for 3 years, he bought parts from me at Bennett Auto Supply. Tom was by far one of the nicest customers we have there, and he was always a pleasure to speak to. Tom was a very good mechanic and employees of mine would always have their cars fixed by him. He will definitely be missed by me and the rest of the crew at Bennett Auto Supply.
