Wilhelmina Benesch Obituary

Thursday, July 1, 2010 at age 91. She is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, John; sisters, Maria Bachner, Katerina Weber, Rosina Emrich, Christina Lutsch, Susanna Cassara and Christina Bachner. Survived by son, John (Claire) and daughter, Mary W. Benesch; grandchildren, David (Hillary), Benesch of DePew, NY and Katherine (Brian) Housand of Littleton, CO; great-granddaughters, Lydia and Anna Housand (born June 28, 2010); several cousins, nephews and nieces. Wilhelmina "Minnie" was born in Watertown, NY and taken to Romania, her parents homeland at the age of 2. She married in 1937 and started her family at the outbreak of WWII. The family spent several years in Austria following the conflict and immigrated to Rochester in December 1949. Over the next 45 years, Minnie was employed in the garment industry, Stromberg Carlson, Eastman Kodak and the Holiday Inn.
There will be no prior calling hours. Minnie will be interred at White Haven Memorial Park alongside her husband. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 800 East Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14617 where Minnie was a 60 year member.

So sorry, Mary and family, about your Mom. It was a pleasure to have been her neighbor for all these years and I have fond memories of her helping me with my garden and of her many stories of the old days when she was a young girl and wife. She will be missed...Laurie and Tom
