Ocotber 17, 1946 - February 1, 2024
CORVALLIS - Robert Preston Morris passed away on February 1, 2024 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Bob was the first of three boys born to Carl and Evelyn (Smith) Morris in Great Bend, Kansas. Bob attended school in Great Bend and Salina, Kansas and continued his education after high school graduating from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
He established his long time veterinary practice in New Mexico. After retiring from his veterinary practice he taught high school anatomy, physiology, and chemistry in Albuquerque.
After retiring from teaching he moved to Corvallis Oregon.
Bob lived a full life and had many interests: fly fishing, camping exploring nature, hiking, playing music, gardening, wood working, and wildlife photography. He found great enjoyment spending his mornings sharing coffee and good conversations with friends. He volunteered his time for Benton Soil and Water Conservation District and was an advocate for restoring habitat for native plants and animals in the Willamette Valley.
Bob is survived by his partner Jackie, brother Gary (Karen), daughters Terri, Tracy (Tony), grandchildren Rachel, Madison, Joey, and Zach, and great-grandson Callen.
He was preceded in death by his brother Don.
He will be remembered fondly by his family and many friends whose lives have been enriched by knowing him.

I met Bob at Fort Hays State University as an undergraduate student. He was helping to teach a lab as a graduate student, and he introduced me to Medical Technology and the Hays Pathology lab. After he left Hays and was in Vet school, I again met up with him as a freshman in Vet school when he was a senior. I lost touch with him over the years and tried several times to find him and tell him how much he helped me in my early career in Medical Technology and later as Vet student. I went onto get my PhD in Veterinary pathology and have a career as a veterinary clinical pathologist. I still fondly remember many of the things he taught me and use some of them to this day. RIP Bob. I'm sorry I was unable to tell him this before he was gone.
