Barbetta H. Ganzer

Barbetta H. Ganzer, 87, of Denton passed away on April 29, 2017 in Denton, Texas. She was born on August 12, 1929 to Harold and Hazel Barragar.

She attended Odessa High School, Texas Woman's University and Dallas Theological Seminary. She married Jim Ganzer in 1950 at The Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton. She was a lifelong school teacher. She taught in Gainesville ISD, First Baptist Church, Selwyn School, Woodrow Wilson Elementary and Liberty Christian School. She had the most amazing gift to love her students in such a way that encouraged them to excel and was truly loved and adored by her students, many which still ask about her. She served as PTA President and helped implement the kindergarten program at First Baptist Church of Denton. She also went to China three times on Missionary and loved the Chinese people and couture.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Ganzer Avery of Denton, sons, Randy Ganzer of Denton and David Ganzer of Sanger, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at Lifegate Church at 3350 Deerwood Parkway in Denton, Texas. Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. with Paster Randy Ganzer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
