Charles Barber Obituary

Charles Ervin Barber, age 81, of Denton, TX, passed away January 20, 2025.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 703 N. Elm St., Denton, TX 76201.

Charles was born October 21, 1943 in Terrell, TX to Charlie Gervis Barber and Hazel Marie (Morrow).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Hazel, stepmother, Florine (Cox), sister Evelyn Louise and grandparents, Jackson Lafayette Barber and Nora (Wagner).

In 1960, Charles married Marilyn (Richardson) and gave birth to Sheri Dee.

Charles later married Norma Jean (Sweatman). They gave birth to Shelly Renee "Crickette".

In 1970, Charles married Martha Ann (Sweatman). Together raised daughters, Shannon Michelle and Shi Bruggette.

Charles married Deborah Constance (Berlinn) Schnoor on September 27, 2008.

Charles is survived by his wife, Deborah "Debbie", 4 daughters, Shannon Phillips, Shi Morris, "Crickette" Mitchell and Sheri Redden, 6 grandchildren, Zack, Cassie, Elijiah, Victoria, Paxton and Presley, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Charles served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1966, serving in many places, his most memorable in Guam.

Charles was a salesman; S&H Motors, he owned a carpet store, and appliance store, a salvage business. He was a board member of a bank in Krum, TX. His last enterprise was at local flea markets selling antiques and collectables.

His family celebrates his life as we remember his life lessons and mourn his loving presence amongst us.
