Donna Annette Parker

Born Donna Annette Parker, a longtime resident of Denton, Texas, passed on Wednesday January 26, 2022 at home in Corinth, Texas. She was born in Gainesville, Texas on July 13, 1941 to Robert Lee Parker and Wannda Sherrill.

She struggled through a long term chronic illness but ultimately succumb to the complications following. Having rallied in the last week of her life she was able to spend cherished quality time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with a big smile and many giggles.

Donna began her education attending North Texas Laboratory School where she met many life-long friends and continued to enjoy their company throughout the years. And she graduated from Denton High School as a proud Bronco.

Donna enjoyed dance as a young lady practicing ballet and toe. She participated in the Highlights Club, Dramatics Club and Pep Club in High School. She was nominated for Most Beautiful. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge with her friends, and participating in Welcome Wagon. She loved traveling, painting and spending time with her family. Active in her family's lives she was involved in scouts and several years as a cookie mom - when cookies were carried door to door. She always enjoyed gardening, and in later years enjoyed sharing the Bronco updates through her Bronco communication line with her alumni. Donna found a passion for Genealogy research and tracked many lines for her family, extended family and friends. Her love for cousins and extended family was obvious as she connected over the years with everyone from her childhood and then again in her research.

She married Billy Cogdell on October 11, 1958 in Denton County. They had three girls. They moved to Orlando, Florida, Omaha, Nebraska for several years and returned to north Texas living in Plano, Texas then Hickory Creek, Texas.

Donna gained her Real Estate license in Omaha, Nebraska in the 70's, upon moving back to Texas she acquired her Texas State Real Estate license and continued as a realtor for many years. Her career moved into Mortgage Lending where she won many awards of achievement. She retired in the early 2000's.

She learned to paint and enjoyed oil, acrylic and water colors. She encouraged artistic development. She shared her love of art and creativity with her family. Several hold her artistic ability.

Preceded in death by father Robert Parker, mother Wannda Carlson, Sister Cheryl Curiel and former husbands Billy Cogdell and Hulen Boliver, many cousins, nephews and extended family.

She is survived by Cheryl Calista Glover of Corinth, Texas; Cynthia Cogdell and Daniel Kelly of Houston, Texas, Candace and Rick Hartkorn of McKinney, Texas; Siblings Greg and Sandra Parker of Pasadena, Texas, Danny and Sue Cogdell of Sanger, Texas, Jack Cogdell of Denton, Texas, Buford Cogdell of Denton, Texas, Larry Cogdell of Denton, Texas, sister in-law Suzanne Cogdell of Plano, Texas; grandchildren Chelsey Glover of Corinth, Texas, Courtney and Lee Gates of Ponder, Texas, Brandon Hartkorn of Sherman, Texas, Justin Hartkorn of McKinney, Texas; Great grandchildren Madison Fulton, Megan and Armani Esquibel, Hunter Anthony, Jackson Gates, Adaline Gates.

Services are scheduled for February 12, 2022 at 2:00p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Home 2025 W. University Dr. Denton, Texas 76201. Internment immediately following at Old Alton Cemetery.
