My Dad was one of my best friends. Somebody I loved spending time with. I could talk to him about anything. He was kind, had that southern hospitality. He was a true gentleman loved people. I hope one day I can be more like him. Love you and miss you Dad until we meet again

Richard hired me in 1969 and I worked for him until he retired from the police department in 1979. He was always smiling and friendly with everyone, until you messed up. He had ways for you to make things right that only he could pull off. He is going to be missed, but stories about him will continue. RIP Chief Denham.

I was so blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with Mr. Richard and some of the family last year. Those and other memories of good times are what gets us through this time in our lives. Our prayers are with you.

I've known my Uncle Richard my whole life. He was a part of the fabric of my family and my dad's best friend. His brother - (my father) Gilmore passed last year - Richard came out weekly to be with his brother and called every single day. I was one of the gals that he called sweetie, little gal and he nicknamed me ..... "Tub"..... which I thought would drop once I got into adulthood.... but not with Uncle Richard! He was always friendly, always had a smile and a hug to give to his whole family and others he knew. He will be missed greatly. I mourn the loss of my Uncle Richard with my cousins. He will be remembered with such love and fondness.
You will be missed Uncle Richard.
