Pete Mitchell Obituary
Pete Allen Mitchell, 73, of Justin, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Denton. On August 24, 1948, he was born in Dallas, Texas, to W.E.H "Doc" and Faye Anna Mitchell. In 1982, he was married to the love of his life Sheron Mitchell.
Pete and his brother Bill worked side-by-side on a farming operation in Justin for over 40 years. He spent many years helping to nurture their land and family to what it is today. Pete spent time as the Assistant Fire Chief and then as an active firefighter for the Justin Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife Sheron of Justin. Brother Bill Mitchell and wife Cheryl of Justin. Stepson Lars Peterson and wife Alli of Argyle. Granddaughter Katie Peterson of Argyle. Nephews Matthew Mitchell and wife Leslie, Travis Mitchell, and wife Chessie all of Justin. Niece Jordan Doughty of Grapevine. Great-nieces McKenna and Aubree Mitchell and great-nephews Callaway and McKray Mitchell.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
On Monday, January 31st, the family will receive friends from 6-8 PM at the First Baptist Church in Justin, Texas. A funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church in Justin on Tuesday, February 1st at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Scott Brown officiating. A graveside will follow at Eakins Cemetary in Ponder, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Pete by making a donation in his name to the Justin Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 613, Justin, Texas 76247.

Sad to see such a small town lose another longtime legend,good man,hardworker n took pride in his service as firefighter/dedicated his livelihood to working of the American soil and being successful at it,my condolences,prayers n thoughts goes out the the American farmer,rip Pete Mitchell,n God bless the Mitchell family n friends.

Pete was a very respected man. He was just like his dad Doc. Quiet and never got his feathers ruffled. He will for sure be missed by all.
