Philip Speegle Obituary
Philip Tenney Speegle, age 80 of Lewisville, TX passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Medical City Lewisville.
Philip was born May 16, 1938 in Decatur, TX to Robert E and Katherine Sloan Speegle. He married Mary Mann in Denton, TX May 24, 1958. Philip served as president of Odessa College from 1970 until 1996. During this time, he was actively involved in many organizations and charities, such as Rotary and United Way. A lifelong Presbyterian, Philip was an ordained elder and served as a supply pastor for small churches in West Texas. Most recently, Philip was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Flower Mound, TX.
Philip is survived by his wife Mary; Children Karen Quintanilla of Mission, TX, Greg Speegle of Waco, TX and Darrin Speegle of St. Louis, MO.; sister Kathleen Schmitt of Vancouver; brother, Roger Speegle of Denton, TX; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held, 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 13, at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Flower Mound, TX. Burial will follow at 12 noon at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. The family requests memorials to be sent to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Online condolences may be left at www.mulkeymasonlewisville.com.
