Ray Hollis Hood

Ray Hollis Hood, 40, (formerly of Sanger) passed away at his home in Greenwood on Thursday, January 4, 2024. He was born to William Ray Hood and Linda Ruth (nee Harral) Hood on March 13, 1983, in Denton, Texas. Ray graduated from Sanger High School with the Class of 2001 and obtained his Associate degree from North Central Texas College. He worked in construction as a carpenter. Ray was a lifetime member of the Bolivar Baptist Church, where he surrendered his life to the Lord. The most important thing to Ray was being a father to his two daughters, whom he loved and adored. A visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Bolivar Baptist Church, followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm. Pastor Dickie Amyx and Mike Pennington will officiate the services. Caleb Jones, Michael Pennington, Andy Phillips, Jason Wilkins, Chris Newman, and Richard Thorson serve as pallbearers. Ray is survived by his two daughters, Kylie Hood and Emma Hood, both of Justin; his parents, Billy Ray and Linda Hood of Greenwood; sister, Cassie Hood Glass, and husband, Jonathan of Springtown; and grandmother, Barbria Rich of Greenwood. Additionally, he is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ray is preceded in death by Paternal grandfather, William Hollis Hood and maternal grandparents Ellwood and Betty Harral.
