Ms. Hughes was truly the sassiest teacher I've ever met - and she was such a joy to learn from. This woman drove me through Houston traffic so I could compete in a state poster competition...she's a saint! She made all the difference for me and I'm so thankful to have known her. For a few years, I taught high school students in a hospital setting and thought she must be crazy to have done that for as long as she did! She was one-of-a-kind and she is so missed!

I was a student of hers at Sanger High School and she had the most impact on me of any teacher I had. I am now a Nurse Practitioner at Parkland ER because of the path she set me on.

I know mere words aren't enough, but you must know how saddened we are to hear of Sally's passing. What an absolute privilege and pleasure it was to have known such a classy and down to earth woman, as Mrs. Hughes! Please know we're holding each of you close in our thoughts and hope you know you can lean on us for whatever you may need. Love and Hugs.
