Anthony Bruno Obituary

Bruno, Anthony "Tony", 89, formerly of Indiana, PA. died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at his home in Greenwood Village, Colorado. He was born on August 20, 1922 in Indiana, PA to Petronilla and Joseph Bruno.
He was a graduate of Indiana High School and joined the Army after two years of college at Indiana University of PA. Tony served in the 3rd Army Combat, 1117 Engineers Combat Group, under the command of Patton.Upon discharge from the Army in 1945, Tony returned to Indiana and married Elvira Mancuso and opened Bruno's Restaurant in 1946. Together Tony and Elvira owned and operated Bruno's for over 30 years. He was a member of the PA. Restaurant Association as well as the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce.
Tony is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elvira Mancuso Bruno, Greenwood Village, CO; two daughters, Patty Cook and husband Don, Englewood, CO., and Toni Lorigo and husband Jim, Greenwood Village, CO; three grandchildren, Sarah Schnabel, Katie Cook and Michael Cook; one sister, Nancy Maloney, Indiana, PA.;
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his three sisters, Caroline Galzerano, Josephine Bruno and Mary Recupero.Friends may pay their respects and will be received from 12noon-1pm.Services 1:00 pm at the Fairmount Mortuary Chapel, 430 S. Quebec, Denver, CO on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Denver Hospice, 501 S. Cherry St, Denver, CO 80246 or The Parkinson's Association.

Dear Aunt Elvira, Patti & Toni:
You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers today as you bury Dear Uncle Tony. He remains in my heart and I will never forget his humor and courage as he battled Parkinson's.
