Tonya, Nikki and Jeremy,
Your guys are the most wonderful neighbors...you're the reason that we've never moved. Dave truly was one of the most generous people that I have ever known. We loved his warmth, his big smile and that wonderful laugh. We will miss him very much. I do think about you guys daily and we will continue to pray for you and be there for you. May God bless you like he has blessed us with knowing you.

Dear Huyett Family,
I found it ironic when I received the news that Dave passed away from a heart attack. The reason I found this to be ironic was that the thing that stood out the most to me about Dave was not the size of his muscles, but the size of his heart. While my father was working in New Mexico, Dave took on the role of being a father figure to me. Every night when I showed up to that gym, I knew Dave would be there to greet me and ask me how things were going. During my days of go-kart racing Dave took on another role in my life, one of my greatest fans and supporters. He showed up at a number of my races and went far enough as to sponsor my kart. I wish I could have shown up to the funeral but I must concentrate on my school work and know Dave would encourage me to do the same. I will miss not being able to see that moustache covered smile, not hearing that infectious laugh, cracking jokes while lifting weights, and not getting that firm handshake. To me Dave was another Dad, a true fan, a sponsor, personal trainer, but most of all a friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

Tonya, Nikki, Jeremy and family,
I don't have a particular story to tell about Dave, but we started at Rocky Flats on the same day and I remember we were all scared new hires, but Dave's smile and laughter helped us all relax. I spent lots of time talking to him when we were decon workers, mostly about the kids and how much his family meant to him. I can close my eyes and hear his laugh so I know you must have enough memories to last you until you meet again. The service was so beautiful, thank you for letting us be a part of it.

Tonya, Nikki and Jeremy--
Well the pastor told me to give you guys a story about Dave and I would have to say that the memory that sticks out in my mind, and has over the years, is when I had broken my ankle and not seen the light of day for almost 2 months and was invited to go to Guernsey with you guys. I remember thinking I would be tough like the rest of you "tan" people and put oil all over my legs and sit out in the sun all day. Needless to say I was not tough, or "tan", but very white (kinda like a ghost) and I was burnt to a crisp! For the most part I was pretty miserable from the sun burns, but I just remember Dave, and the rest of you guys making sure that I was comfortable, and making sure that I was still included during the trip, even though I was in horrible pain. Odd as this memory may seem, it is something that I will always remember and it reminds me of the warmth, kindness, laughter and the belonging I felt when I was in Dave's presence. This is just one of the many fond memories that I have of spending time with Dave and the rest of you guys and every time I get a sunburn I can think of Dave saying, "I don't think you should use that tanning oil son."
I appreciate and treasure the times that I did get to spend with Dave during his life and I will truly miss him.
Just know that I am here for any of you guys and please don't hesitate to call if you need anything.
Love you guys!
Matti C :)

Tonya, I was deeply saddened to hear of Dave's untimely passing. He was a very unique person, full of life and a joy to be around.
The memories I have of him are very special to me, and I believe that God blessed each and everyone of us by giving David to us for the time He did.
A piece of my heart was taken when Dave left us, as I know it did for you and your family, and everyone who loved him.
You have my deepest sympathy and I pray that God will ease your pain and magnify the memories of your life together.
Love, Linda

Nikki, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I saw Mark Simpson today and he told me. I was so heart broken knowing that you and your family are going through so much grief. I know I don't keep in touch as often as I should have but it seems like since we all left the flats we have separated in different ways. Again my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
Always,

Tonya and family,
I only knew Dave for a short time. I met him a few months ago at Sears where we worked. He was the sweetest man and always made me laugh or smile when I had to go to the back for freight. He even showed concern of my husband who I talked to him about w/ back issues. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My family and I would like to send out our deepest sympathy to your family.
