Hello Ford,
I only learned of Earl's passing yesterday when I read the obituary in The Colorado Lawyer.
I felt like I had just been stunned by a taser.
Earl is right up there in my books with Santa Claus. I miss him.
You take care.

Earl:
I am so sorry never to have met you but I feel that I know you from conversations I had about you with Ford. She is a very talented and unique person and you were and still are a very special person in her life. I enjoyed talking with you over the phone the one time I did and I know that if you and I had met, we would have had a wonderful time discussing things.
Ford - it was so good to talk with you today and as you already know, you are very much in my thoughts. Please come to Kentucky when you can.
Your Cousin Louise

Earl,
I never had the pleasure of meeting you, but I only had to see and feel the glow emanating from Ford whenever she mentioned your name to know that you were a very special person. Rest well.

Earl Hauck was one of life's `good
guys', I shall always remember his
rare wit, and mini-treatises about the
intricacies of `art law' a speciality of
which he was one of the pioneers.
We enjoyed many amusing times
together.

My Uncle Earl was a Pearl! A true Gem of a man. He was the Mayor of Cherry Creek. I miss you so much! So many wonderful memories and stories he would tell us----all of our Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts with Earl and Ford; the house he use to live in that was haunted; stories of him growing up and of my grandparents; always taking care of our legal needs; all of the knowledge he instilled in everyone; A BRILLIANT MIND AND SPIRIT! I loved hearing all of his stories! Those colorful socks he would wear to all of our gatherings. I remember a Halloween party I went to with a friend and she borrowed a classy "red plaid" blazer Uncle Earl had given to my brother, Pat. She wasn't sure what she was going as, but when we got to the party, she found some of Earl's business cards in the pocket so she decided she would be "Earl Hauck, Attorney"! I have always been so proud of my Uncle. He was classy in every way. I will miss you Uncle Earl. I love you! I love you too Ford---you are in my thoughts and prayers.

He was Guapo to begin until the real "El Guapo" came to be in 1997. Then came various derivatives of Guapo and the final name that stuck was "Iggy." It seemed to fit and we enjoyed calling each other Iggy and various other names over the years. Iggy really enjoyed time spent with family and good friends both of which he had many. Also as most of you reading already know he loved to eat out and enjoy a great meal to celebrate for any reason, birthday or holiday or just an opportunity to share time together and laugh, love, cry, whatever. He was always there for me as Uncle, Abogado (attorney), Friend, an inspiration to me forever. A father to me and set a standard as Uncle to 9 nephews/nieces of my own. We learn from those who we most respect and resemble in character and I am proud to say that Earl/Iggy was one of my greatest mentors in life. I will miss you Iggy and know you will watch over me and our entire family/friends which you had many. You were the "Kosmo Kramer" of CC! The streets of Cherry Creek will never be the same!!

EARL...Larger than life, your wonderful laugh, the way you touched us. I will always treasure the sweet note you wrote when my Brother Bob died, about a gentleman who would light up a room...you have always been that kind of gentleman. The AfterLife is going to be a lot brighter with you there... You will be missed by us all. Much love to Ford and family. We were lucky to count you as our friend.

Earl, you have been a true and loyal friend for almost 40 years. From a chance encounter at a political fund raiser to now. We shared unforgettable experiences of mountain climbing, cross country skiing, sailing and hours of enthusiastic conversation. You have always been game to take on the next challenge whether physical or philosophical. Your concern for our families has been the essence of friendship. It has never wavered. We shall miss your booming laughter, your approachability, your joi d' vivre. Your life has been love, laughter and hope for we who were lucky enough to share a bit of it. Life was better because of you.
Vaya con Dios.

Earl was one of my favorite people! What a treasure he was to come in to my life as a lawyer and leave my life as a friend.
I will miss him horribly.
