Eileen was a mirror of her sister, Virginia, my mother. She passed in the early seventy's of cancer. The years between then and now when I would talk to Eileen, it reminded me so much of my mom, it was hard. I hadn't spoke to her for some time, the last time we talked, it was about her working on her memoirs and the trouble she was having getting information. I'm sure that her and Murrell are happy to be together once again. May God keep them and Bless them.

Aunt Eileen was and is an inspiration. Her faith, love and devotion too family was evident every day of her life. I will miss her and her stories about my Father, Aunts and Uncles, Grandpa and Grandma Barnes and the life they shared on the Colorado prairie! She was the last of a great generation in our family. I will miss my grandmother. She not only was my grandma but my best friend. She accepted me for who I am even though she may not have agreed with everything I do she still loved me. She was the kind of person who was kind to everyone. She would tell me stories of the past and where she used to live. She helped me and gave some great advice. I miss her terribly now but I know she is going to watch over me and she is happy being with my grandpa. This is a tough time for me but I know she isn't suffering anymore. I love you grandma and you will always be in my heart and thoughts. Have fun with grandpa and Alana.

Grandma Stevens you will forever be in my heart. From the time I met Clorinda and became good friends with her you accepted me as part of the family, taking me out to lunch on Sundays with you all, telling me stories of your life, your daughters lives. So wise, so talented, so loving and accepting of all. You will be missed and I look forward to the day I will see you again in Glory Land.

Yes, I will truly miss Mrs. Stevens. How I enjoyed listening to her stories of the days when Denver was much different than it is today. Mrs. Stevens opened up her home for piano lessons when her daughter (and my dear friend) Lorri Hockman first taught our children. What great visits!
