Eleanor is the main reason I became a volunteer at South Platte Park. I met her on a birding trip to Kansas. She encouraged me to sign up as a volunteer, and I am so glad I did. She would lead us on our breeding bird atlas expeditions through the park where she shared her extensive knowledge and expertise in birding. I think of her sage advice often when I am out in the field with binoculars. She was a good mentor and will be greatly missed.
