Eric Bigler Obituary

Friends of adventurous bicyclist and renowned wit Eric "Cuz" Bigler are invited to gather at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Milwaukee Street Tavern, Cherry Creek. Bigler died November 9, age 61. He was cremated. Born in Sacramento, Ca., he grew up in Rome, N.Y. A voracious reader, jazz lover and devoted friend of men and dogs ("four-legged psychiatrists," he called them), Bigler worked as a wine steward in Lake Tahoe and Manhattan and, since moving to Denver in 2000, a plumber. No pipe he wouldn't mend for a pal. Bicycle journeys took him through Italy, Central America and the Australian Outback. His surviving family comprises, in his words, "dozens of cousins."

My father actually new him and had me look him up a few days ago. They worked together in lake tahoe many years ago and lost touch. We just happen to be talking about him so I looked him up and we are very sorry to hear of his passing my dad said he was a good guy. Just know that he made a lasting impression on many in his life time. They may be gone but never forgotten.

Missed you "cuz' this Thanksgiving, as we spent many together, all enjoying your special stories and humor. I think of your trips to visit while in Washington and the oyster shack we found at Pikes Mkt, you enjoyed so much. A toast to the man who brought my barbecuing to a new level. R.I.P.

Reminiscing about hot summer nights in 1969, Rome NY, sitting on the Croton St porch, listening to the radio, Night Time '69...Blood, Sweat and Tears, Gary Puckett and others. Those were the days Eric, with Jimmy, Joey, Nancy, Barbara, Dawn and me. What innocent fun we had. That is how I remember you and always will; warm smile, twinkle in your eyes, standing tall with hands in blue jean pockets, always making others happy...You made us so very happy, we're so glad you came into our lives. Peace dear friend Eric.
