I had the privilege of being one of Fern's caregivers during the last few months of her life. I know she was a markable woman in her youth and reached accomplishments unheard for women in her generation. I came to know Fern after she was stricken with Alzheimers and became a very different person. And yet in the change of her thinking pattern some things remained constant: her devotion to her family, her sense of humor and her genuine nicess - she always appreciated things that we did for her, and many days she had me laughing in hysterics over her bawling out coaches of whatever sports event whe was watching. She was quite a lady and will definitely make her presence known in Heaven.

Fern was a good neighbor and friend to my mother. She was quite a quilt maker, and I will always remember her having a good joke, and good advice. God Bless her.
