Jerry attended Lawrence High School on Long Island and graduated from Rhodes Academy in NYC. He attended Hobart in upstate NY, and graduated from Hofstra on Long Island with a BA in History and Political Science. He attended the Real Estate Institute, NYU. Jerry spent his first 40 years of life in New York City, Cedarhurst, Woodmere and Brooklyn, NY. His lifetime career and passion was in commercial real estate as a broker, mortgage banker, and as an outside real estate consultant to Chemical Bank. His creativity in arranging loans and in finding properties for lending institutions served him and his clients well. Baum, Inc., for over 45 years in NYC, Denver, CO, Maui, HI, Atlanta, GA and Bluffton, SC. He was an active Rotarian on Maui, in Atlanta and in Bluffton. It was 1977, when Jerry moved with his two children to Evergreen, CO and married Liz, and with her two children became an active adventuring family. Travel was a large portion of their lives with skiing, golf and scuba diving being Jerry's favorite things to pursue, other than real estate. After their youngest graduated college, the two moved to Maui and enjoyed the ohana of a nurturing island lifestyle. Jerry always loved his Rocky Mountains, as seen in a stream built into a koi pond setting in their backyard of Bluffton. Jerry loved life and treasured the memories. Jerry is survived by his wife, Liz (formerly Elizabeth Clark of Savannah, GA), his children and grandchildren, his brother, his Aunt Thelma and Uncle Len Marten of Seattle, WA, his Aunt Martha Reinbach of Long Beach, NY, multiple first cousins and their spouses and children.
