Max left my life in California in 1980 when he returned to his family in Colorado. I was sad, but accepted what he wanted. Again he has left my life, but will always have a very special place in my heart and memories. Love you always. May Max and his family have found peace and happiness.

TO THE MONTOYA FAMILY,
I just recently found out about Max. He was a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of working with him at King Soopers a few years ago. I was very sad when I found out the horrible news. May god Be with you and you famlies.

Max, you will be sadly missed, May you rest in peace.
Sincerly,

Maxine Ortega

A Rose for Brother Max

The fairiest rose from our garden you picked oh lord a year ago today, may he adorn your heavenly home.

The thorns that was once painful cannot hurt anymore, your healing hand reached out to him and opened up the door.

That leads to life everlasting free from pain and sorrow, eternal rest grant onto him be all of his tomorrow.

Oh sweet lord kind with mercy, our last thing we implore that you heal our hearts left heavy that day.

With his memory forever more.

We love and miss you!

Little we knew that morning,
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories
Your love is still our guide,
And though we can not see you,
You are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Love and Miss you,

Sisters Liz and Diane

To the Family of Max Montoya,
We are constantly thinking of Max and how he made us smile and laugh with his presence...I hope you know that he was a joy to have around and when he left to go back home to Colorado we all missed him! But he missed his family...He really talked about his family and how he missed them...but he lived here a short while to grow up and to be on his own...What a blessing for us to have met him and to get to know him...My brother, Dennis talks about him and Max in the Army and the great times they had! There are so many stories to tell with Max and us...We will have to share them one day with you... I just wanted your family to know that he had this second family here that loved him dearly...We were sadden by the news of him passing...but we heard he is at peace and comfort now...after his battle with his illness...We hope you find happiness and comfort that everywhere Max went he brought love and happiness to everyone!!!
Thinking of Max and family,
From his friends in Sacramento, California....Julie Fong, David Kohaya, Dean Fong, Karen & Michael Romo, Brian Munekawa, Dennis Tagawa, Tommy Tagawa, Teruko Tagawa, Norma Tagawa, Brando & Samantha Tagawa, Liane & Michelle Fong, Lilo Gonsalves and Michael & Kathy Sunahara and family...

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So he put His arms around you
And whispered “Come to Me”

You suffered much I silence
Your spirit did not bend
You faced your pain with courage
Until the very end.

With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pas away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.

When we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that Again.

It's been a month but your are
still very close to our hearts!

The moment that you left us, our hearts split in two;One side was filled with memories, the other side died with you.
We often lay awake at night, when the world is fast asleep; and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon our cheeks.
Remembering you is easy, we do it everyday. But missing you is a heartache that never goes away.
We hold you tightly within our hearts, and there you will remain; you see life will go on with out you, but it will never be the same.

We love you Uncle Max

Uncle Max you were truly someone whom I looked up to and loved. You have shown me by example what it means to live life to the fullest, never give up, cherish time with family and friends, and to live a life that has meaning. You lit up every family gathering with that smile and that positive attitude to go with it. You made me proud to be a Montoya and I thank God that I got to be in your life and witness and learn.
