Mark Constancio Obituary

On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in Wheat Ridge, CO Mark left this world suddenly after complications from a bicycle accident. He was born November 26, 1959 to David and Shirley Constancio. Mark graduated from Buena Vista High School with the class of 1978. He went on to study Accounting & Finance at the University of Colorado Boulder graduating in 1982. On May 19, 1984 he was married to Gail Ann (White) Constancio in Denver, CO. In 1986, Mark completed a certificate of Education and in 2004 he obtained a Masters in Theology from Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology. Mark spent over 20 years educating students at Wheat Ridge High School, Our Lady of Fatima, St. Gabriel's, and finally at St. Mary Central Catholic High School. Mark had an incredible passion for life including a deep Catholic faith, devoted marathoner runner and cyclist, avid reader, a world traveler and treasured soccer coach and an extreme soccer fan (rooting for Arsenal first), an Italian speaker, a longtime baseball enthusiast (cheering for the Cubs and Rockies), a wine connoisseur, a true Colorado mountain friend, a history and political buff, a loyal CU Buffalo fan and alumni, and an absolute lover of music filling every space of life. Mark fully lived his life impacting many, many people along the way with his positivity, smile, intelligence, and incredible charisma. He filled his time with a vigor for knowledge and experiences with people he loved. Anyone who knew him was incredibly blessed; please keep his memories and impact on the world alive. I have many memories of Mark and of things we did together over our lives together. I still see him everyday as I planted two of the trees in the backyard that were given out at the memorial and see them every day. One has grown to over 3 ft and is loving it here. The other is struggling some, but I know Mark will look over it and make it thrive. Miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mark was an incredible man. He was both my 8th grade social studies teacher and the youth minister at my parish throughout my high school and college years. He was such a caring and loving man that touched many people's lives. He was truly a man of Christ. I know he is smiling down on us from heaven right now.

My sincere condolences to your family. May God "who comforts us in all our trials" (2 Cor 1:4) comfort you and your family at such a difficult time. I know God will help you to endure because he cares for you ( 1Peter 5 :7).

Gail, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your entire family. He surely had a very positive kharma, a true gentleman and friend.
I know that he is now with his childhood friend John Auffrey.

He had a lasting impact on so many lives, mine included. Even last week, I was just telling someone about the most wonderful teacher I'd had. I will never forget his passion and dedication to everything he set his mind to. It was a great blessing to have known him, to have been taught and inspired by him. He is sorely missed. God bless and keep you.
