Ralph Clark Obituary

86, of Denver, passed away on Friday, January 18th, 2013. Ralph was born in Grand Island, Nebraska in 1926, the youngest of four brothers. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17. At wars' end he attended the University of Colorado, where he joined the fraternity of Delta Tau Delta, and went on to earn a law degree. Afterwards, he became a founding partner in the firm Law, Nagel and Clark, with great friends Bob Nagel and John Law. He retired from his law practice in 1980 to become a professional lobbyist with the Colorado legislature. Ralph had a great love of politics and was involved in many political campaigns both local and national. He was a lifelong outdoorsman and naturalist, as well as an avid fly fisherman and hunter. He spent much of his time on a farm near Longmont to be near his closest brother Chick Clark, where he planted a vineyard as well as a large garden. Along the way he made many, many lifelong friends to include astronauts, senators, and presidents. He was a great Dad to his three daughters, Kathy Clark (Jeff Weisenburger) of Lakewood, CO, Carol Clark (Bill Swensen) of Jackson, WY, Lisa Look (Randy Look) of Morrison, CO, and two grandchildren Bennett Look and Karli Swensen. A memorial service will be held in his honor Monday, January 28th, at 11:00am at the Chapel at Red Rocks, located at 905 Bear Creek Avenue in Morrison, CO with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of St. John, 1320 Everett Court, Lakewood, CO, 80215.

So sorry to learn of Ralph's passing today. I always enjoyed seeing him when he stopped for lunch or dinner at Rodney's(as did all the staff). What a great guy, always upbeat and so friendly to everyone. I know he will be missed by all!

We will miss our Uncle Ralph greatly. He always was there for me with a big hug in times of need. Memories include the many, many times he would take me to lunch @ the Brown Palace, especially when I was attending Nursing School. So many more vivid memories of wonderful family times together. What a great man!

Ralph was a great guy. I cosidered him a mentor in the lobbying game way back in the day. He was a tough negotiator, a ball of fire, great sense of humor, and I just loved hanging out with him at the Capitol. He always wanted to teach me to fly fish, and I never took him up on it. Now, I regret it. Our sympathies to his many friends, and his family. Sam Mamet, Executive Director, Colorado Municipal League
