Jacob Hughes Obituary

Jacob "Jake" Hughes "So Much" Jacob "Jake" Elliott Hughes, 27, loved and respected husband, dad, son, and friend, was taken from us unexpectedly May 29, 2009.Jake was born December 11, 1981 in Murray, Utah. Jake served in the U.S. Marine Corps immediately after high school. He married the love of his life, Meghan Marie Gasser in Sandy, Utah on September 22, 2007. Jake adored his wife and children, with whom he spent almost all of his waking moments. He enjoyed playing with his kids, camping, music and playing poker with his Dad and best friends. Survivors: wife, Meghan; children, Kobe and Kendyl; dog Kemper; dad and mother, Jeff and Sue; sister and brother, Heather and Ashley; father and mother-in-law, Len and Tammy Gasser; grandmother, Jeanne Hughes; grandparents, Don and Pat Gasser. Preceded in death by grandfather, Raymond Hughes; grandparents, Mark and Martha Loosli. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Chapel 17711 So. Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah. Friends may call at the Memorial Park Chapel on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. and interment will follow at the Memorial Park.

Dear G.I Jake..
You came into my life at the exact moment I needed you to. You were my rock. I will never forget all the times we shared and the funny moments. It's been about a week now since your funeral and I will continue to visit you at your grave often. I have pictures and items that will forever remind me of our time together. I just heard the news today of Jake's passing. To his family: I am so sorry for your loss! I remember lots of fun memories with Jake. I remember riding the bus home from school...and all the teasing and fun that we all had! He was such a fun loving guy, and so nice to everyone!!

Jake,
I've watched you grow from a young boy into a man. I remember our camping trips Bowhunting and to Flamming Gorge were we all had so much fun. I am happy that you were given the oportunity to acheive so many things in your life before you had to leave and I thank you for unselfishly serving our country so that we all may remain free.
