KEVIN CAMPBELL Obituary

Kevin K. Campbell 1963 ~ 2010 Kevin K. Campbell was born June 3, 1963 in Vernal, Utah to Kay and Patricia Darling Campbell. Kevin died at home on November 28, 2010. He grew up in the family plumbing business and eventually became owner of Campbell Plumbing Company. One of Kevin's greatest joys was the times he spent with his friends and family at the Vernal Rod and Gun Club. Kevin started trap shooting at an early age and continued throughout his life. He valued his friendships with his many shooting buddies, young and old. He served as a director of the Rod and Gun Club and was part of the construction crew for the club. He was a lifetime member of ATA, The Amateur Trapshooting Association. He loved to gather his family and go on outdoor drives into the mountains, especially to Blue Mountain to view wildlife critters. Kevin felt that his greatest blessing was his wife, Lisa, and their kids Megan and Devin. He will be missed by Lisa, daughter Megan Mackay, son Devin (Lyndi) Mackay, father Kay Campbell, sister Carrie (Robert) Keel, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Kevin will be welcomed by his mother Pat Campbell and his grandparents. Services will be held Friday, December 3, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Western Park. Friends and family may call Thursday, December 2nd from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Vernal Rod and Gun Club and one hour prior to the services at the Western Park. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Kevin has requested that all his friends come to the celebration of his life dressed in jeans and casual attire. In lieu of flowers, Kevin asked that folks do something special with their family.

Dear Campbell family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Kevin was one-of-a-kind! As a kid, I remember all the memories of growing up next to the Campbell family. Growing up, I thought your closest friends always lived next door. As I got older, I learned that not everyone has the opportunity to live next door to the people they considered as close as family. I’ll always remember how Kevin could make anyone laugh with one of his jokes, the way he would wave at everyone he met while driving around Vernal in one of his trucks, and how he always made time for friends. He was a unique man and I will miss him.

I never saw Kevin OR Lisa that I wasn't greeted with a hug and a warm smile. Kevin was a special friend, since childhood, because he was one of the first in the youth group learning to shoot trap, groups that my Dad coached and mentored. Whenever I saw the Campbell Plumbing truck coming my way, I'd always look to make sure he saw me and knew that I saw him, and that made for some big waves no matter what street we were on! He just always took the time to say hello and visit a little, and was always a happy person. I know the last years of his life were rough, and he fought hard. He was surrounded by loving family and good friends. Kevin knew the value of being a good friend, and always had a kind word to say about anyone and everyone. He will be sorely missed and heaven is now a little richer with our earthly loss. Blessed be the Campbell family, know that you are warmly loved and our heartfelt good wishes are yours.

What an AMAZING man!! Kevin had a special light about him that shined brighter than most. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Kevin always made you feel welcome and loved. I will miss you my friend... I'll keep an eye on Lisa and the family for you if you will say hello to my Mom for me? Deal? Love you man!!

Kevin will be missed by many. He never missed an opportunity to do something for others. Anytime there was a charity project going on Kevin was the first to be there working and donating materials. He was a good man and we were fortunate to know him!

My thoughts and prayers are with Lisa and the Campbell Family. Kevin was a great man and will be missed. It's so sad to see young lives cut short. But we can all be at peace knowing that we have a loving Heavenly Father. My family and I can share your sorrow with regard to the loss that you are all feeling as we are putting my dear sister Carolee Sanders to rest. Sincerely, Rick

Dear Campbell family: Kevin was more than a friend to me and my family, he was like a brother. We grew up together. We played ball together, hunted every kind of animal together, and enjoyed great times together throughout our lives. Kevin will be greatly missed by me and my family. I am glad to have had the pleasure to be touched by him and his love. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.
