Kyle Bailess Obituary

October 19, 1965 ~
February 16, 2018
Kyle passed away February 16th at his home in Ogden, Utah. He leaves behind his wife Terrilyn Hansen Bailess; Teri Gardner, the mother of their children Jamison and Alex; father Glen (Susan); mother Sandra, siblings Bryant (Olga), Aaron, Wendy Newman (Dave Pierce).
Kyle was a lifelong lover, critic and connoisseur of music, and a luminary in the early 80's SLC Punk scene. He always had a motorcycle of some type and loved to ride. We loved Kyle's clear, direct and authentic style. He had strongly held beliefs and convictions and wasn't shy about them. Kyle stood for the disenfranchised and against injustice. He was a protector and crusader for inclusion.
True to who he was, Kyle wanted those around him to also be true to themselves, but was okay with and showed compassion for others for exactly who they were. He'd let you know you were seen and understood and then flip that one intense moment into humor, making you laugh at the absurdity of life.
Rest in Peace my Son, Father, Brother, Husband and good friend to many. You will be greatly missed!
A celebration of life will be held at Glen & Susan's home in Murray from 2pm-4pm on Friday the 23rd.

Kyle was emotionally perceptive beyond his years (I met him when he was 24). I was surprised by his passing. He died too young. I still think of him.

Thinking about Kyle. Missing his wit and strong sense of irony. I probably had more joy, more laughs, more shadenfraude than during my years in Utah with him than the rest of my life put together.
