SCOTT SHAIA Obituary

Scott Patrick Shaia April 12, 1964 - Feb. 4, 2014 Resident of Rodeo Our beloved Scott died peacefully with his loving wife beside him on 2-4-14 at 1505. As in life, he was surrounded by love. Scott left us too soon, only 49 years old. Born in Alabama, raised in Tennessee, Scott's journey took him many places and touched many people. Scott's creativity and talent in the culinary arts was not only his profession, but his life-long passion. As a private chef, restaurant and hotel chef, corporate chef, and creator of Shaia Spice, Scott's confidence and energy allowed him to do anything. He never stopped thinking, creating, and giving to others. Scott was a poet and creative writer. He was witty, adventurous, competitive, and progressive. He loved music, number and word puzzles and games, technology, and a challenging project of any kind. Scott always found the good in things and used his perceptive insight and keen sense of humor to positively influence anyone around him. He was proud of his Lebanese heritage. Scott moved to California in 2010 to be the Northern California/Nevada Regional Chef for Holiday Corporation. When Scott met Tara, they both knew they belonged together and from their first date through Scott's final days, they were madly in love. Their marriage was a dream come true for both of them. Scott leaves behind his wife Tara; children Alissa, T.J. and Jeff, Bud and Tiffany; grandchildren Hailey, Jack, and Michael; brother Chris with sister-in-law Alicia and nieces Natalie and Lauren. He also will be dearly missed by family members Maureen, Erin, Art and Lynn, Sean and Tracey and Holly, Grandma Alice and Aunt Pat and his closest friends Jim, Kevin, and Felipe along with countless others and sweet Lulu. Scott also left behind his plans and dreams to teach his nieces to be chefs, travel to exotic places, and run his own spice company. Scott loved everyone and was greatly loved. His kind and generous spirit made everything better. A memorial to remember and celebrate Scott's life will be held on Sunday, March 9 from 2-6 p.m. at the Crockett Community Center, 850 Pomona St., Crockett CA.

Tara, I'm so sorry for your loss. Working with Scott over the past three years was a great pleasure for me and I will always remember the tough exterior and the warm, funny, creative and caring inner person that Scott was. His leadership extended beyond the culinary program and he touched many lives. We're all better for knowing him.

Sincerely,

February 20, 2014

Tara, you are the light in Scott's eyes, you lit up his world when you came into it. You ignighted the flame for his passion in life. We were privileged to see his face light up every time we talked about how happy he was to have found his soul mate. .

Though I only met him once - that was enough. I know that he was a well respected man by his colleagues and peers, well liked by his friends, and a tremendously talented and caring man. He left us far too early - with far to many items left in his life's bucket list. Tara and all of Scott's family - you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Please reach out if you are in need of anything.

This man was one of the best I have ever met, by far the best boss I have ever had. I have never felt so respected by someone I considered so far above me, his advice and leadership was always just what I needed, I wish I had known him better. Tara, if you are reading this please know that my wife and I think about you every day, it is difficult to refrain from intruding on such a personal event as I understand that the loss you must feel is beyond anything I could imagine. Please know that you are in our prayers.

I have known Scott for many years. We shared some amazing times while he was the top chef at our local bar in Mira Mesa " Tomcat"; We laughed we grew so close when he chose to be the best Step DAD EVER. HE Seriously gave his ALL when it came to his children. DNA doesn't make you a good Dad. But a MAN "Scott" Made that happen. This man made a difference in my husband and my life. Last time I saw him was my 50th Birthday. He catered the whole party. I felt so special and amazing because i had my own Private Chef. AND FRIEND His presence and food were incredible. He will be painfully missed. To his new wife and family I wished I had met you so we could have seen him truly happy.our love and prayers for you. Scott is in heavens arms cuddled warm and happy. He will miss his family but will be with all of you constantly. He will never leave you alone. He never has. He's not going to start now.sincerely Teresa and Tom Ainsworth
