Our beloved Husband, Father, Papa Steven Newton Nielsen Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday February 22, 2017 surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Kathleen Nielsen, his four sons Steve Jr. (Amber), Jason (Nicole), Matthew (Brianna) and Michael (Kandace), mother Beverly, brothers and his five grandchildren Isabella, Hannah, Ethan, Abigail, and Scarlett. Steven was preceded in death by his father Kenneth, his grandparents and his uncles (including his adored dog Turbo). You were one in a billion and we love and miss you more than you will ever know. Life will not be the same without you. Your sons will forever look up to you and will always thank you for instilling us with our "don't quit attitude." We will always be thankful for the love, guidance, empathy and support you gave to all those around you. Thank you for everything. We hope you look down at this "Motley Crew" of yours and have a laugh, smile, and shake your head in disbelief…because we are all products of you and your leadership. We love you. This isn't goodbye, it's…"see you later."
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 4, 2017 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) South Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, Steve would be honored for you to donate to SeaShepherd.org or any other environmental group of your choice. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com

I love you dad. It's been one week since you passed and it seems like a lifetime ago. You were my guide and I will miss you every moment of every day.
Thank you for everything. We are all taking care of mom and will make sure she is watched out for and never lonely.
Come see Scarlett, Bella and Hannah in their sleep. They would love to see you even if it were just a glimpse....they miss you.
