Victor Adamson Obituary

Victor Keith Adamson 1919 ~ 2009 HIGHLAND - V. Keith Adamson passed away on May 28, 2009 in Provo, UT. He was born May 13, 1919 on Highland to David H. and Jessie Myers Adamson. He was the ninth of 11 children -- Nida Hall, Alta Nash, Arnold, Martell, Clyde, Gilbert, Virgil, LeGrand, and Karl who preceded him in death; survived by Afton Jacob and sister-in-law Helen (Virgil) Adamson. Keith was raised on the family farm and attended school on Highland and American Fork. He was drafted Feb 1941 and served in the Army Air Corps as a Tech Sgt until his honorable discharge in Oct. 1945 at the end of World War II. He then served an LDS mission to the Southern States 1946-48. Keith married Louise Armitstead on Sept. 17, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with seven children: Janelle Mattson (John) Paris, ID; Leon (Kathie) American Fork; Mark (Nancy Tschiderer) Irvine, CA; Jesse Richard (Ann) Highland; McKay (deceased); James, Salt Lake City; and Cheryl, Provo; with 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Louise passed away March 16, 1987. Keith married Ardell Zimmerman March 31, 1991 and welcomed her children -- Dean (Melanie), Scott (Beverly), Sharon (Lin) DePaula, Kathleen (deceased), Kyle (LaNae), Kurt (Jean) and Gerald Dukepoo (foster son). Keith and Ardell served a mission to Birmingham, England. Keith faithfully served as counselor in two bishoprics, Bishop of the American Fork 3rd Ward and in many other church callings. After 34 years as a boilermaker he retired from Geneva Steel. He was the first male "Pink Lady" at American Fork Hospital and affectionately referred to as the "Blue Man." Keith will always be remembered for his visits and kindness to others. The funeral will be Friday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland 24th Ward Chapel, 5212 West Country Club Drive (Alpine Hwy and 10500 N), Highland, UT. A viewing will be at the same location Thursday, June 4th from 6-8:00 p.m. and Friday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment at American Fork Cemetery with full military honors. I learned that Keith had passed away from my father, Cecil Hansen. I wanted to share with you my love for Keith and his family. He was a wonderful man with always a kind word for others.
