Bernard Studer Obituary

Studer, Bernard Paul "Bunny" Bernard was born on December 10, 1922 to the late Edward and Mary Studer, passed away on January 22, 2013 with his loving family by bis side. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 1, 1943. He proudly served in the European Theater in World War II and received several decorations and citations. He was discharged on November 25, 1945. A lifetime member of Cantigny Post V.F.W. #367 and a retired member of Labor Local 75. Preceded in death by his wife, Beverly J. (nee Munson) Studer; one son, Terrence Studer; 5 brothers and three sisters; as well as long-time companion, Antoinette Spesia. Survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren: David (Karen) Studer, their son, Jason (Michelle) Studer and great-papa-Bunny to Madeline and Tryston Studer who always brought a smile to his face; Mary Austin and her daughter Michelle (Derek) Dunham; and great-granddaughter Kyla Dunham; Paul (Margaret) Studer and their sons, Brett and Aaron Studer; Brian Studer; Daniel Studer; Gregory (Antoinette) Studer and their children, Michael, Nicholas and Catherine Studer; also survived by one brother, Richard (Loretta) Studer; and one sister, Ethyle Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the caring staff at Senior Star at Weber Place and Angels Grace Hospice for the time and loving care they provided for our father. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bunny's name to Angels Grace Hospice or the donor's choice would be appreciated. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for mass at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 3 to 8 p.m. Interment Resurrection Ccmetery, Romeoville. Arrangements by: Tapella Funeral Services @ Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. For information: 815-726-4054
