With her loving family by her side, Meriam M. Dunn was called to be with the lord on October 13, 2015. Meriam was born on July 7th, 1925 to John and Amanda Arneson of Ophiem, Montana. She was 90. Meriam will now be reunited with her loving husband of 64 years, Troy, together forever. Troy preceded her in death just two days shy of seven years (October 15, 2007). In 1964 they purchased a grocery store (Food Town Market) and moved to Barstow. Meriam would later work at Rude's Department Store in Barstow as head cashier for 35 years, while her husband and family members ran the local business Desert Produce. She was survived by her son Rodney Dunn and daughters Debbie Brand, Deanna York and Dorean Callahan all of Barstow. Grandsons are Jerry and Eric Brand of Barstow, Don York II of Barstow, Dustin York of Topock, Rodney Dunn II of Corcoran and Bobby Kuschel of Riverside. Granddaughters are Mishelle Brand of Barstow, Tiffany Barnes and Tricia Callahan of Rancho Cucamonga, Melissa Callahan and Amanda Callahan of Barstow. Great-great- grandchildren, Jayden Hollingshead, Khloe Brand and Mila Sturnacle. She is also survived by her brother Jim Arneson of Glascow, Montana. She was preceded in death by brothers Montford Lewis, John Arneson, Doug Arneson and sister Arlene Larson. The family members would like to convey special thanks to Meriam's caregivers Michelle Brand, Sandra Corrigan and Michael Harrelson Sr. and the hospice workers of Inland Valley Care of Apple Valley. Celebration of Meriam's life will be held Thursday Oct 22 at 11 am at Calvery Chapel Church at 412 Ave A in Barstow. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park.
