AIMEE KRUG Obituary

Aimee Elizabeth Krug, 41, passed from this life on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 9, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, of which she was a member. In agreement with Aimee's wishes, cremation rites will follow the mass on Friday and a private committal service for the family will take place at a later date in Burlington, Iowa.
Aimee was born the daughter of Robert William and Cherie Angela (Crane) Higgins on January 20, 1969 in Burlington, IA. She earned a full ride scholarship to the University of Northern Iowa for music (oboe) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in music in 1991. Later, Aimee attended University of Iowa for one year working towards her master's degree before moving to Des Moines. She attended the School at Mercy Heath Sciences to become an X-ray Technician and later became a board certified Ultrasound Technician. On September 20, 1997, Aimee married Adam J. Krug in Burlington, Iowa and they made their home in Urbandale. She was most recently employed with Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Aimee shined as a gifted oboe instructor. Her passion for teaching students was demonstrated by having several All-State qualifying students over the years.
Aimee was a cherished member of the Central Iowa Wind Ensemble, Bible Study Fellowship and Amazing Women Cancer Support Group. She was an avid tennis player and traveler. Aimee and Adam loved traveling all around the world and would often plan their next trip before getting home. She was a loving, caring and dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Aimee will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of nearly 13 years, Adam Krug of Urbandale; two daughters, Kiera and Brooke Krug both at home; parents, Robert and Cherie Higgins of Burlington; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Greg and Mary Krug of Des Moines; three brothers-in-law, Brent (Heather) Krug of Urbandale, Eric (Patty) Krug of Houston, TX and Michael (Jennifer) Kraus of Cedarburg, WI; and a host of extended family members. Aimee was preceded into eternal life by her brother, Jonathan Higgins; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, St. Pius X Catholic Church, where a parish scripture service will begin at 7 p.m.
The family has respectfully requested that any memorial contributions be made to the Aimee E. Krug Memorial Fund.

I can't believe how many years have passed.
It's still so sad, everything you couldn't experience. My daughter turned 18 today. I hope you're doing well where you are now.
