Des Moines
Christopher Kent Osborn, 53, died Monday, February 18, 2013.
Chris was born at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines on August 31, 1959 to Gail Meyer. Along with his mother Gail, he had a special bond with his grandma, Edna Sandven. Chris was a graduate of Des Moines Lincoln and attended Colorado St. University. He lived with his loving angel, Kathy Johnson.
Activities Chris enjoyed with his family and friends included: golfing, Hawkeye games, fishing, morel mushroom hunting, listening to music, playing with his dogs and cooking. He had an uncanny ability to converse with friends and strangers alike. Chris was a faith-filled member of Lutheran Church of Hope and was looking forward to becoming a grandfather this spring.
Chris was preceded in death by Joel and Edna (Smith) Sandven, Matt Johnson and John Meyer. Chris is survived by Gail Meyer, Kathy Johnson, two sons Christopher J. Osborn and Ryan (Meghan) Osborn, Alissa (Johnson) and Andy Peer (Alivia, Drew and Ashton) and Dr. John Meyer, Craig Meyer and Scott Meyer.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 22nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dunn's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines on Saturday, February 23, at 10 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorials can be sent to the family.
