Daniel Harold Cunningham, 63, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at the Kavanagh House from complications of colon cancer.
Dan was a North High grad, worked at both Meredith Publishing and Chuck's Restaurant for many years. He was an avid trapshooter, was a member of the Izaak Walton League and of the Amateur Trapshooting Association where he met a lot of nice people all over the Midwest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Harold and Dorothy (Dennis) Cunningham Pogue.
Dan is survived by his sister, Cheryl (Larry) Cunningham of Urbandale; nieces, Christie (Chris) Coffin of Granger; Cari Cunningham of Johnston; and great-nieces, Chloe and Isabelle Coffin of Granger.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kavanagh House on 56th Street in loving memory of Dan.
