Floyd Alan Hertsgaard, 65, Des Moines, Iowa died Sunday June 25, 2017 at Veterans Hospital surrounded by his sister, Dena Hertsgaard, Des Moines, and some very close special friends. Services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday July 8, 2017 at Debra Heights Wesleyan Church 4025 Lower Beaver Rd., Des Moines.
Floyd was born January 22, 1952 in Rock Island, IL. He served in the Navy on the USS Emory as a nuclear power plants welder. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League.
Visitation will be at 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service. A Celebration of Life to follow the service.

Floyd was the perfect neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand, never asking for anything in return. I'm sure that there is a special place in Heaven for him. I pray for his family and friends in their loss of someone who spent so much time helping others.
