Jan Krantz Obituary
Des Moines
Jan Krantz, 74, passed away peacefully at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 surrounded by her family. Jan was born January 11, 1939, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. A private family service is planned.
Jan co-founded Adventureland Park with her husband, Jack, and ran Green's of Okoboji. She loved her work and was proud that she provided family fun for so many in and around Iowa. Above all she was a selfless wife and mother who will be missed by more people than she could ever imagine.
Jan is survived by her four children; sister in law, Patricia; many grandchildren and countless others who were so proud to call her "Mom." Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Leone Green and her husband, Jack Krantz.
In honor of her love for animals and in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, 5452 NE 22nd St., Des Moines, Iowa 50313.

I just got the sad news. Jan was a special lady and I was glad to have known her. I worked at Aland for the past 8 years in the commissary. She always made time to chat as she walked through the commissary. She is going to be missed. My prayers are with the family. The Aland will not be the same without her.

This lady was very special to me .We were good friends ,connecting through cards and letters the past 5 years .I am grateful to have been part of her life every week for the 5 years prior. The last card I received from her promised of us seeing each other before the end of summer .I am so sad this won't happen now . I loved her very much !!!
