Jodi Ellis-Thomas, 44, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Jodi was born on November 14, 1971 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2016 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 20th also at the funeral home.

Red you were one of my best friends and you meant the world too me. We went thru a lot together and you was always there by my side to make me get up n keep going when life got tough. We cried together laughed together partied together n much more. Some of those times were my best times n I'll never forget you. You'll will be missed by many Red. Rest in peace beautiful angel. Fly free. Always n forever. I love you

Rest in Paradise to this beautiful soul. I remember Jodi giving me a huge hug at the family reunion after my momma passed away and telling me she thinks about her from time to time and that my sister and I have beautiful blonde hair like she did. I always remember her having such a sweet presence around her family. You will be missed dearly on Earth - but Heaven gained a beautiful soul and my momma will be reunited with you. Give her a hug for me and tell her I know she is watching, I can feel her with me! Make sure you show show your children that you are here with them, sweet Allie has gone through so much the past year and I cannot wait to give her a big hug.
