On October 28, 2016 Josef Robert Ries Fuller's spirit could no longer be contained by his body. Born September 2, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa he lived every moment to the fullest.

He approached everything in life with enthusiasm and joy. He had an infectious smile and was always the first person to offer help. He had a deep love of music; playing both the piano and percussion. He dreamed of going to Iowa State and being in the drum line, but he never truly have up his lifelong dream of being Batman. He took great pride in being a Boy Scout in Troop 40 on the Southside.

Josef is survived by his parents Elizabeth and Brian Robinson, Richard Fuller II and Amy Burton, his brother Richard Fuller III and step siblings Mackenzie, Miranda, Alyssa and Tyler. His grandparents, Martha and Travis Holden, Richard Fuller, Ramona and Gary Parkin, and Dorri Thompson, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many friends.

Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Amazing Grace Church, 1903 53rd Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, November 2nd also at the church. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery at a later date.

The family askes attendees to wear Batman, Iowa State, cameo or scouting apparel.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial contributions to the Mid- Iowa Council Boy Scouts of America, Brody Middle School Music Program, or Iowa Donor Network.

I took this picture when he turned 7. That little face could brighten any day. Joe was always trying to educate me on all the Star Wars movies and characters. He would roll his eyes at me when I'd get it all mixed up. :) Josef will forever be remembered. My love and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I taught Josef for two classes. He always had a smile on his face and loved to learn. He was the first person to offer help to others. Last week, he wrote in his notebook that he wanted to be remembered for changing the world, such as curing cancer. Josef did change the world. We are all better people for having known him. I know we will see him again. Until then, I will hold him in my heart.

So so sorry for your huge loss. Josef was very kind, courteous, respectful, and quite mature for his age. Everyone says "What a great kid." He was such a good role model. I remember his love of music, Iowa State, and Star Wars. I enjoyed having him as a piano student for 4 years. May God uphold you and give you some peace and comfort.

My heart is heavy!! I will never forget his infectious smile and ISU gear as he walked the halls in 6th grade. We would always high five or in general talk about our love for ISU! I am so sorry for his loss, but through your selfless gift, he will live through others. Losing a child is unimaginable and I'm sorry for your loss.
