Joyce died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, in Urbandale surrounded by her family. A memorial service for Joyce will be on Sat., Dec. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Grimes Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 2380 SE 37th Street, Grimes, IA, 50111. Joyce was born in Milwaukee, WI, and moved to Iowa in 1959. She graduated High School from Arlington Heights, IL. She married Lonny Perdue on February 3, 1964. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on Nov. 29, 1958. She was a teacher spending 13 years as a regular pioneer. She was a loyal, loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed. We have beautiful memories of Joyce. She loved being a mother and taking care of her 3 children. She delighted in having her grandchildren around her. She loved garage sales and collecting antiques. She had a special place in her heart for all kinds of animals, especially horses. Her favorite scripture was Isaiah 11:6-9. She had a talent in writing poems. She loved music, especially the piano, and dancing. She was learning Spanish for 7 years to expand her ministry progressing to the point of teaching a class at the Urbandale Library. She dedicated the last ten years of her life taking care of her parents, especially her mother, who she took care of every day. Survivors include her mother, Eloise Addy, her husband Lonny Perdue, her 3 children, Mindi Perdue, Brindi (Mark) Brown, Toby (Amy) Perdue, her 4 grandchildren Cody, Madison, Kylie, and Carlie and a host of others who loved her. Joyce was preceded in death by her father William P. Addy Sr.
