A memorial service celebrating the life of Lisa Daniels Wilson, 47, of Tucson, AZ will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, 5665 Merle Hay Rd in Johnston, IA at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 30, with a lunch following the service. Lisa died June 8, 2012, in Tucson, AZ, following a valiant fight with colon cancer.

Lisa was born October 20, 1964, in Des Moines, IA, attended schools in Des Moines, graduated from Johnston High School and the University of Northern Iowa. She was married to Robert Daniel Wilson March 13, 1996 while on a Caribbean cruise. They continued to enjoy cruising in the following years and also enjoyed trips to California and Napa Valley. She was employed by Farmers Insurance and through her work made many friends in the Tucson area. Lisa enjoyed making jewelry, reading and taking long walks in her free time as well as keeping up with her friends on Facebook. She will be missed by these many friends. Lisa loved her family and friends with her whole being. She also dearly loved her two dachshunds (her boys!!).

Lisa is survived by her husband, Dan; her mother, Janet Daniels; brothers, Steve Daniels and Gregg (Amanda) Daniels, all of Des Moines, and sister, Amy (Scott) Peterson of Minneapolis. Lisa is also survived by her father-in-law, Milton Wilson of Idaho Falls; brother-in-law, Shaun (Sue) Wilson of Cheyenne; and sister-in-law, Deborah (Fred) McCauley of Denver; plus nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Conley, and her mother-in-law, Carol.

Memorials can be directed to the Animal Rescue League in Des Moines.

Always a smile and helping hand!

We all were truly blessed to have had Lisa in our lives.

She'll be missed but continue to make us laugh and smile as we reflect upon those memories of the shared laughter and fun!

I went to grade school with Lisa. She was one of the three Lisa's in our grade and the one who never got into trouble. So glad she lived a happy life.
