Louis "Lou" Lanser

Pella formerly of Newton - Louis Lanser, the son of Arie and Jennie (Baarda) Lanser, was born September 19, 1936 in Sully, Iowa. He graduated from Sully High School with the class of 1954. Lou met Mildred Rolffs in high school and they were married on September 19, 1957 at the Newton Christian Reformed Church. Lou worked several occupations. He was a feed truck driver, a roofer, a farmer and finally in the counter top business. He was co-owner of L & L Custom Tops for 32 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, golfing, puzzle making and his favorite hobby, fishing. He enjoyed many fishing trips throughout the years with friends and family. Lou was a member of the Newton Christian Reformed Church for most of his life and had served as an elder and deacon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2018 at the Newton Christian Reformed Church. The family will greet friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Memorials may be designated to the Newton Christian Reformed Church or to the Newton Christian School. On-line condolences may be left at www.pencefh.com
