MARY F. KLEMM

Des Moines

Mary F. Klemm, 67, died at home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Newton.

Mary Frances was born in Des Moines on December 20, 1941, to Louis and Frances (Kelly) Klemm and grew up near Kellogg, IA. She graduated from Newton High School and moved to Des Moines in 1970. She worked at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the St. Joseph Rosary Society and the "5-0" Club as well as the Neighborhood Birthday Club. She enjoyed treating her friends to her wonderful baked goods.

Mary is survived by her two brothers, Louis J. (Deloris) Klemm and James (Mary) Klemm of Kellogg; three nieces, one nephew; and six great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Angela Klemm in infancy.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Perpetual Memorial Fund in Des Moines or Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery Fund in Newton.
