Paula,
On the nearly 4th anniversary of Mike's death, I remember him as a straight-shooter. I really liked him.

Dear Polly, I've been thinking of you during this sad, lonely time in your life. I did not know Mike, but met him once or twice at family affairs, always hearing what an outstanding person he was. Love from Joyce Toro Tamblyn

I didn't know. Oh my! Mike welcomed me as new veterinarian in the Des Moines Metro back in the late 80's, and I experienced and appreciated his straightforward empathetic forthrightness when he was a state veterinary medical examiner. I considered him a colleague and comrade. He stood up for what he believed in. I admired and liked Mike, and will miss him. My sympathy to his family.

Dear Paula,
Sharon & I are deeply saddened over your loss. The 2 years living next to Mike on Sherman Street in Ames were such a joy. I hope he had half as much fun there as I did. We had some great laughs through the intensity of those first 2 years of Vet School and I am still thankful for the tubs of coop peanut butter he'd bring me from those weekends with you in Decorah. I had great respect for Mike's opinion and judgement, and one day when a cute little red headed fellow vet student student was walking to her seat, Mike leaned over and said to me, "Dosey, you outta be looking into her." I said, "Ya think?" Wise words from Mike. I have missed his companionship these 40 years on, but knew he would be joyful and actively involved where ever he was and whatever he did as long as he had you by his side.
God bless Mike and
God bless you Paula,
Tom and Sharon (the little red headed fellow student)

Paula, I was so sorry to hear about Mike. We were car pool and vet school buddies and our paths crossed in Des Moines over the years. It sounds as if you had many wonderful years together. I hope you find comfort in memories.
