Our sincere condolences to Al and the rest of the Lamp family. Both Marian and I enjoyed Nelda and Al both, and Nelda always was asking us about how our kids were doing. We know just how much she will be missed.

What a beautiful lady the world has lost. I remember times ago the fun and laughter we had. Nelda always put a smile on your face. Our prayers are with you, Al, and your precious family.

My heart goes out to all of Nelda's family. I have fond memories of the kids growing up and in youth group. I moved to Ankeny about the same time as the Lamps and Nelda was one of my first friends in a new town. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed. Cherish all your special memories and she will always be with you. God bless to all of you. Cindy

Nelda was the bright spot in everyone's day. She was classy, bright and a beauty inside and out. Always interested in others rather than talking about herself. Nelda always had a kind word for me and everyone who knew her. We will miss her and her spirit will live on in all our hearts.

Al, Roger and the Lamp family: Nelda showed us how to live and die with courage, inspiration and dignity. Nothing was left unsaid or undone. Please know that Mary Ann & I will always recall her positive "can do" attitude as your family celebrates the life of a very special person.

Playing cards at Nelda and Al's kitchen table is a very fond memory that I have! I believe the game was Spades. Back then, cornfields were what you saw. Times have changed! With Mother's Day this weekend, I hope you all will be able to share a lot of cherished memories along with the tears. Sending hugs to you all!

The world has lost a great "lady". I know very few people who are as nice, sweet and fun as Nelda. We went to church together for 40 years, worked on committees together, golfed together and laughed together. Its not going to be the same when we finally do get to go back to church services. Prayers for you, Al, and the kids. She loved you all so much, and talked about the grandkids so much. You've lost the light of your family, but Heaven has gained so much. I know she'll keep busy up there, but her pain and stress are gone. Love you guys. Bless you.

She always had a warming smile an embracing hug when I seen her. I always looked forward to seeing her and her husband at the different events that American Equity had. She will be greatly missed.

I meet Nelda when the family moved down the street from us in Ankeny. I was friends with her children and she and Al were friends of my parents. She was a wonderful woman who I am sure will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Every year, after she retired from American Equity, for the directors meeting in the board room, I would swipe her name tag before she came in. I would always wait for her to come up to the table and look for it. Every time she thought they had forgotten about her until she saw me standing there. She would smack me and give me a big hug and kiss.
Nelda was so loving and took good care of all of us. She will be missed.
