Ronald W. Carlsen passed away February 17, 2015 at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha surrounded by family. He was awaiting a liver transplant when complications arose.

Ronald was born June 1, 1943 to Howard W and Ruth E Carlsen. A lifelong resident of Des Moines, Ron attended Cattell Elementary, Hiatt Middle School and Tech High Schools. He was confirmed at Grandview Luthern Church where he was a boy scout and his family attended for many decades.

Ron was employed with Townsend Engineering for 35years, retiring in 2003. He worked as an electrical assemblyman. He was an avid fan of most anything that included a motor, wheels and speed.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 41years, Nancy and four children:

David (Donna) Carlsen of Las Vegas, Nv; Kimberly (Mark) Spicer of Ankeny, Ia; Paula(John) Gallentine of Dayton, Ia and Troy McGee of Des Moines Ia; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held April 11, 2015 at First Methodist Church in Des Moines at 1:30pm.

Because of Ron's love of children , memorials suggested are the Make a Wish Foundation or First Methodist Church in Des Moines
