Ruth Vera Collins, 82, died February 11, 2010 at her home.
Ruth was born December 4, 1927 in Berlin Germany to Marta Pallas and Otto Stein.
Ruth is survived by her children, Susan (Steve) Hicks of Charleston, WV; Larry (Patty) Jones of Des Moines, IA; Laura (John) Rettig of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, David (Michelle) Bliss of Austin, TX, Mike (Liz) Bliss of Greenville, SC, and Brian Jones of Des Moines, IA; great-grandchildren, Kurt and Jonathan Bliss of Austin, TX. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Tom Collins.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, February 15, 2010 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin Ave. Senior Community Center or the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Ruth.
