STEVEN J. SHARP
Des Moines
Steven J. Sharp, 67, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center.
Steve was born April 30, 1942 in Des Moines to Orland and Georgia (Turpin) Sharp. He graduated from North High School in 1960. Steve was the organist for the Des Moines Consistory for 40 years. He was a member of Auburn Lodge 592, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, was Pontentate of the Shrine in 1984 and Knight Commander of the Court of Honor November 17, 1983, and was a member of the Sons of AmVets.
Steve is survived by his companion, Joann Faber; an aunt; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Debbie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by burial at Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in order to establish a Nursing Scholarship Fund in loving memory of Debbie Sharp.
