Wayne Samuelson Obituary
Dyersville, Formerly of Jewell
Wayne L. Samuelson, 81, of Dyersville, and formerly of Jewell, Iowa died Saturday, May 2, 2012.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Jewell United Church of Christ in Jewell. Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Jewell UCC. Burial Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell.
Wayne was born September 13, 1930 in Perry, Iowa, the son of Art and Rosa (Rans) Samuelson. They moved to Stanhope in 1936. He graduated from Stanhope schools in 1948. He married Janice J. Buckels on June 14, 1959. They lived and farmed near Stanhope until moving to Jewell in 1969. He operated a pizza restaurant, Main Street Connection, in Jewell while collecting pedal tractors. In 1995, he moved his business, Samuelson Pedal Tractors, to Dyersville. He and Janice moved to Dyersville in 2000.
Wayne is survived by four children, Brooke (Ellen) Samuelson of Fort Myers, FL, Janett (Reed) Smith of Coppell, TX, Layne (Trish) Samuelson of Cedar Rapids, IA, and DeLoss Samuelson of Dyersville, IA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Buckels of Cambridge, WI, Colleen (Jay) Ossman of Jefferson City, MO, Judy (Rodney) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, IA, Faye Buckels of Webster City, IA and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice in 2011.
Memorials may be given to the Jewell United Church of Christ, the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Manchester or the Gideons International. Online condolences may be made to www.kramerfuneral.com.
