William P. (Bill) Addy

Urbandale

Bill Addy, 95 years old, passed away peacefully at his home on August 4, 2012. Memorial Services are planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located at 2380 SE 37th Street in Grimes, IA 50111.

Bill married Eloise Waite on October 17, 1937 and had a wonderful marriage for just short of 75 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Eloise; three children, William (Barb) Addy Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Joyce (Lonny) Perdue of Urbandale, IA, and James (Irene) Addy of Windsor Heights, IA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He had a successful business career in retail merchandising. He spent 30 years at Sears as Merchandise Manager, then as assistant to the Vice-President covering the middle United States. He closed his career at Merle Hay Mall as Merchandise and Sales Promotion Manager, earning many awards along the way.

Bill loved to ride his horses, fish, golf, vacationing throughout the United States, playing cards, being with family and walking at the mall.

Memorial contributions may be given to Jehovah's Witnesses or to the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall.
